Most of us in the neighborhood can't wait to *finally* see this happen. The project got over another hurdle recently, getting its Master Use Permit from the city. The developer and architects had a public (but quiet) party at FX last night to celebrate during First Thursday.
Here were the models, which have gotten a little more sophisticated since I last saw them (please excuse the crappy iPhone 3G photography):
Looking south, basically from Occidental Park, with Qwest Field in the background.
Looking southeast, notice the nice sightline cut through from Occidental.
Looking northwest with the King Street Station platforms in the foreground (and that's our building, the Florentine, on the other side).
What is going in the area between the stadium and the new apartments? Parking lot?
A strange part of me wants the new buildings to be named "North Lot" rather than the stupid names they are going to get.

Yep, half the parking lot will stay a parking lot.
I like the name "North Lot."
