So Heidi and I were watching TV at her folks' house a couple weekends ago and we caught this crazy new parkour show on G4. We were like, "geez, that looks familiar" during one of the competitions, which you can see the backdrop for at 1:02 here:
And sure enough, it's an alley like half a block from our house! I have no idea when it was shot, or why I was not consulted as a technical advisor. This is facing east, directly across the street from the Pop-In on First, between Jackson and King (between Dry Soda HQ and the old One Reel office):
I just saw this magazine at Emily's yesterday, although apparently it's from last fall. This is not our house, but it's the same light we have over our dining table, thanks to my sister scoring us a reject prototype!
The dark but hilariously, DeLillo-ously dense The Ask. I saw Sam Lipsyte at Hugo House, and that (gladly) inspired me to go read some of his stuff.
The Ladies of Grace Adieu and Other Stories, for $1 at a library book sale in Echo Park. I had no idea I could spend some more time in the Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell world!
Much Olson Farms pork
A dozen yummy eggs from Amy and Shanti's Vashon chooks
Whoa... Funyuns! This was one of my go-to chip choices as a kid.
