The dark but hilariously, DeLillo-ously dense The Ask. I saw Sam Lipsyte at Hugo House, and that (gladly) inspired me to go read some of his stuff.

Disturbing! I was hoping it was a parody of the "Cat"holic church but no such luck. It is a serious piece of music: http://www.freebase.com/view/en/duetto_buffo_di_due_gatti. Which means that those enormous crosses and ridiculous robes worn by children are also serious. Yikes.
