So, are purple carrots the Catholic ones? Also, that is maybe the silliest food thing I have ever heard. Farmers would have switched to orange carrots if they were more disease resistant, or a better crop, and certainly the Dutch liked to--and were very good at--hybridization. Those early Protestant farmers were not into paying tribute to any leader except god.
