The dark but hilariously, DeLillo-ously dense The Ask. I saw Sam Lipsyte at Hugo House, and that (gladly) inspired me to go read some of his stuff.

Drinks a lot, or not at all
Have they started drilling the tunnel yet? I had this dream a few weeks ago that I was sitting in the passenger portion of the big drilling thing (yes, in my dream it can carry passengers) and the tunnel started to flood. I presumed during the dream that this all occurred as part of the project referenced in your post. I woke up, as one often does in stressful dreams, and realized I had to pee like a racehorse.
I know that's probably not where you were thinking this would go, but I felt you should know...

That is not where I thought that would go. They have not started drilling yet. But now when they do, I will think of you deep beneath Seattle, steadily peeing your way through the metropolitan substrate.
