Listed below are links to weblogs that reference Time Traveler From The Year 1998:

Comments

It seems pretty unlikely that someone, having finally figured out how to travel through gd time, would bother going fourteen paltry years into the future to "warn" people about such a relatively unimportant event given the entire history of human existence, especially when he could just go FIFTEEN years into the future, see if people DO elect Gingrich, and, you know, jot down some notes on the real-world implications of Newt's having been elected so that this guy might have some hard data with which to convince those people not to elect Newt after all. Also, why is he "warning" people about the past, and why is he speaking of that past as if it hasn't already happened? I mean, sure, I get it, this is the exact point the article is making, viz. people are acting like what happened 14 years ago never actually happened, but then what about this: Time travel didn't even exist in 1998, so how could this dude have come from then?

Come to think of it, you do have a point there. I thought something was wrong with that story.

Recent Arrivals at my house

  • Rain and Spotified chamber music

  • Almost perfectly square, thin, homogeneously chewy slices of enriched white bread, extruded from a place called "Butter Farm." This was a purchase from Uwajimaya that I couldn't resist—I think mostly because this bread makes me feel like I'm saying, "Computer... two slices of bread, toasted."

  • Deer Hunting with Jesus. It's a little dated (2007) and written a little too much to "entertain," but I learned a lot, especially in the section on guns. Thanks for the recommendation, CBell. Definitely worthwhile.
