I felt like I was wearing a flannel shirt and listening to Ace of Base. (Yep, I never really got the '90s.)
See, I just paid my state business and occupation taxes (you're welcome, stupidly-tax-structured Washington, why would you ever have a tax based on *gross* income?), and I signed up to receive future notifications electronically. Only within the secret dwemer dungeons of the state IT department would that involve *signing up for a listserv*! Specifically, the DOR-ELF list. I love, love, love it. I was even emailed a list of commands, which was awesome:
For all other listserv functions:
Type a command from the following list into the body of your e-mail
message and send it to listserv@listserv.wa.gov.
• SET DOR-ELF DIGEST - For a daily summary of all messages (rather than
receiving messages as they are sent)
• SET DOR-ELF REPRO - To receive copies of messages you post to the list
• SET DOR-ELF NOREPRO - To stop receiving copies of messages you post to
the list
• SET DOR-ELF ACK - To receive notification when your message is
delivered successfully
• SET DOR-ELF NOACK - To turn off notification when your message is
delivered successfully
• INDEX DOR-ELF - To get an index of archived messages
• GET DOR-ELF LOGxxxx - To request an archived message from the index
• INFO REFCARD - To get more functions/commands
• SIGNOFF DOR-ELF - To unsubscribe to this listserv
DOR-ELF ACK!
The WA listserv system even has... a banner/logo. Behold:
