We lived in the Springs for a while when I was growing up (1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade, when my dad was stationed at Fort Carson), and my mom still has some good friends there. She forwarded me this cool time-lapse documentation of the "Waldo Canyon" fire.
It's 15 minutes long, for heaven's sake don't watch the whole thing, but I highly recommend letting it all load up at 1080p and then surfing through and watching bits of it—especially at night time. With the Carmina-Burana-style music and the stars in the clear mountain sky reeling overhead, it's some really Fires-of-Mordor-type beautiful destruction.
